To 'Gently be', we believe everyone needs a healthy approach to movement, eating and managing their thoughts and feelings. When these things are consciously balanced you feel so much calmer, more in control and so much more ready and able to enjoy each moment of life to the full. Thoughts and feelings
Our lives can be governed by how we feel - worry, doubt, fear, anxiety, irritability and anger, as well as tiredness, and feeling unfulfilled or overwhelmed.
Understanding why we feel and think as we do, and discovering the incredible power our minds have, is the first step towards greater control - the first step towards changing out lives, inner and outer, so that we can feel happier, calmer, more positive and satisfied.
Not just our bodies, but our brains as well, crave and benefit from movement. Movement causes our brains to grow, to produce healthy chemicals that make us feel good, and our bodies to heal, grow, detox and energise.
Healthy movement isn't forcing yourself to exercise, or 'getting it over with' (in fact this approach can do more harm than good); healthy movement is something you enjoy, that you look forward to, that fits harmoniously into your life.
At Gently be, through our 'Time Outs' in the workplace and the community we introduce you to gentle, easy, fun, yet healthy and energising ways to get your body moving. When you look forward to moving around you don't even notice that you are 'exercising'.
Health food and eating
Forget 'diets' and things that involve unbearable restriction, endless weighing and measurement and inconvenience. A truly healthy and sustainable approach to food and eating involves accepting and appreciating our bodies for what they are, understanding how they want, need and use food, and then making small, achievable, rewarding changes to build a healthy, enjoyable relationship with food.
Changes in weight, shape and condition come easily once the proper foundations have been built. How we think and feel, and how we move, is all part of making our eating natural, easy and healthy.
